Overview

Prime and undercoat almost any exterior bare or painted surfaces including wood, stone, metal, terracotta and brick. Ronseal Exterior All Surface Primer & Undercoat helps to improve adhesion, cover bold colours and hide dark marks. Touch dry in 2 hours and ready to paint over in only 4 hours.

Do not use on decking, stainless steel, cast iron or areas you walk on.

Preparation

Always ensure the surface to be filled is free from dirt, dust, grease, and any loose or flaking paint.

Barewood

• Lightly sand the wood with a 120 grit sandpaper, working in the direction of the wood grain.
• Fill any holes or cracks with a suitable wood filler.

Metal

• Remove any rust with a wire brush and wipe down with a damp cloth.

Stone, Terracotta and Brick

• Get rid of any loose bits, use a stiff brush and water, and allow to dry.

Painted Surfaces

• Ensure to leave a smooth surface by sanding with a 240 grit sandpaper, a lower grit may be required on surfaces with flaking and peeling paint.

Application

We recommend performing a test to ensure compatibility, always follow the manufacturer's instructions found on the tin.

• Ensure to stir well before use.
• Apply using a good quality synthetic brush and apply two coats, leaving 4 hours between coats.
• Allow to dry for 4 hours after the final coat before painting with your chosen top coat.
